SemiFlex, a premium TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), performs with an exciting combination of pull strength, shock absorption, and print resolution. SemiFlex is a hard flexible filament that comes in four different colors that look beautiful after being printed. This filament’s hard flexibility, especially combined with its ability to bind to ABS when using a LulzBot FlexyDually Tool Head, make it ideal for robotics, prototypes, shock absorbers, and other projects requiring flexible, tough printed items.
SemiFlex differs from NinjaFlex, another flexible filament, in that SemiFlex has a higher durometer. This means SemiFlex is more rigid, so the material bends less easily and can be printed at a higher speed while achieving finer print resolution. SemiFlex will also perform better than NinjaFlex when 3D printing objects with overhangs or requiring more retraction while printing.
Because of its flexibility, SemiFlex prints best when using either the Flexystruder or FlexyDually Tool Head for the LulzBot TAZ. SemiFlex is not recommended for the LulzBot Mini at this time.
Hot-end print temperature 230°C
Adheres well to bare glass and PET or “painter’s tape” covered print beds. No bed heating required. We do not recommend printing SemiFlex directly on PEI print beds
LulzBot TAZ owners should use a LulzBot FlexyStruder or FlexyDually tool head for optimal results when printing SemiFlex
The LulzBot Mini does not support SemiFlex at this time!
